Freda’s contribution over 17 years has ensured that our wonderful team of skilled, competent staff will take the organisation forward strongly.

ELRU’s sustainability and credibility are linked to the way in which leadership is shared, which has indeed been the hallmark of Freda’s stewardship.

For this we say thank you.

Wow is the only word that comes to me. Wow for a great AGM, it was good to meet again the very hardworking and dedicated ELRU staff – old and new!

Wow for all the excellent ELRU work and wow for the very sad & scary news that Freda is downing tools at ELRU!

Freda inherited ELRU at such a difficult stage, in very very heavy seas and look where it is now & despite the economic climate!

Freda you’ve done an incredible job & what I have always valued is your commitment to developing and sustaining a shared vision & shared leadership based on clear principles.

Someone should definitely write that up because it is such an important story……

    Best wishes

It is never easy to say goodbye to someone who impacted on your life in so many ways.

Someone who is a mentor, role model, friend, confidant and support. Someone who listened, encouraged your ideas and sought your advice.

A visionary and brave risk taker who initiated and drove challenging concepts in ECD, such as our community development approach and heritage.

    Dear Freda,
Through our partnership with the ECDLC I have had the opportunity to admire your deep understanding of ECD, wisdom, quiet diplomacy and humbleness and I know that is what you brought to ELRU and your team. Go well in your retirement and be blessed with many years of good health to enjoy all the things you have always wanted to do.
    Best wishes,

It was with suprise that we learnt of your retirement – a concept that is not very common in the ECD sector. You however deserve the opportunity to put your feet up and to fill up your tank with inspiration again. I value the fact that I could learn from you, and I regularly reflect on my time and experience at ELRU. From all of us at FCW – Goodluck and best wishes for the future!
